An entire family of band saw blades can be inspected and assembled with this machine.

This system inspects carbide teeth on continuous band saw blade stock at a maximum rate of 60 teeth/sec for one of the worlds largest suppliers of saw blades. The teeth are inspected as they continuously pass under the camera. A plastic cover is assembled over the teeth, defects are marked, and the product is packaged into large coils.

The photo to the right shows the band saw blade being pulled through the vision station where a laser sensor triggers the camera shutter, and the vision system detects defects such as chipped teeth, missing teeth, and out of specification. Top middle shows the dial indicater quick fixturing tooling for calibrating the vision system.
