Automatic Assembly, Testing & Robotic Packaging Machine

System automatically assembles, tests and robotically packages parts at a rate of 60 parts per minute. System consists of two bowl feeders, a 550 mm reach SCARA robot, three indexing dials, an automatic product orientation system, cam driven mechanisms, and a light stack to notify the operator. The entire system requires only one operator for monitoring hopper levels and unloading/loading trays.

Pick and place mechanisms, heaters, presses, and trimmers are used to assemble the components. Parts are automatically detected and checked for proper assembly, and the defective parts are ejected into a reject bin. Machine control is via a PLC and a PC, and the operator interface is through push buttons and a touch screen.
