Automatic Transfer, Testing & Robotic Packaging Machine

System automatically transfers and packages medical products into cardboard boxes at a rate of 220 parts per minute. A specialized vacuum conveyor was designed to tranfer the products from a clean room to this packaging machine. A modified walking beam system was designed for transferring the boxes. Analog vacuum transducers on each vacuum cup detect the products and monitor the condition of the vacuum system.

The photo at the top right shows the specialized vacuum conveyor.   Right middle shows one of the four static robot end effector and right bottom shows one of the six articulated end effectors. Each end effector has a built in ID tag that notifies the operator if the incorrect unit is installed. The articulated end effectors pick the products and articulate them closer together so that they fit into smaller boxes.
